The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a proposed rule to significantly reduce nicotine levels in cigarettes and certain other combusted tobacco products.
The primary objective is to reduce the prevalence of smoking-related illnesses, such as lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as associated deaths, by curbing the addictive nature of these products. This rule is not finalized yet and will be subject to a public comment period.
The proposed regulation excludes e-cigarettes, nicotine pouches, waterpipe tobacco (hookah), smokeless tobacco, and various other products that contribute to death and disease within communities. ... See MoreSee Less
