    @POTUS can put an end to this nightmare by clearing ALL flavored e-cigs from the market, including mint and menthol.

    Earlier this month Rockland County Youth from Tapp Earlier this month Rockland County Youth from Tappan Zee High School SADD and Reality Check members participated in cups in the fence to educate about the effects flavored tobacco products. Students made out the fact, “Flavors Hook Kids” to show those passing by the impacts of flavored tobacco products since 96% of youth who use e-cigarettes use flavored products. The youth were joined by others in Putnam, Orange and Westchester counties as a part of national day of action, the Great American Smoke-out held the Thursday before Thanksgiving annually. According to a Stat Shot by the NYS Department of Health (https://www.health.ny.gov/prevention/tobacco_control/reports/statshots/volume14/n3_milestones_in_tobacco_control.pdf), cigarette smoking among high school youth is at an all-time low: only 2.4% of high school youth are current smokers, representing a 91% decline in the youth smoking rate since 2000 when 27.1% of high school age youth were current smokers. However, e‐cigarette use among high school youth decreased in 2020, a first since NY has monitored use of these products, from 27.5% in 2018 to 22.5% in 2020. However, e-cigarettes are still the most used tobacco products among youth.

Studies suggest, “Living in neighborhoods with a higher concentration of tobacco retailers makes youth more likely to start using tobacco and makes quitting more difficult.
